Barbara Lee Caye, 71, passed away at Polson on April 3, 2019.  Barb was born June 12, 1947, in Kalispell, MT, to Agnes and Abraham Caye.  She was raised in Elmo and attended Elmo School and high school in Busby.  She received her higher education in Oregon and Washington.  Barb was married to Eneas Kenmille and then to John Shotgun, Sr..   Barb was a fuel technician at mines in Wyoming; an architect and accountant for CSKT; and ended her incredible career as an accountant and bookkeeper for Two Eagle River School.



Barb’s hobbies included playing stickgame and traveling to powwows, especially with her favorite companion, Kathy Hamel.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, along with telling stories and laughing.  



She was preceded in death by her parents, Aggie and Abe; her brothers Arnie and Alvin; her sister June; and her late husband John Shotgun Sr. and son Gabriel Shotgun Sr..  She is survived by her father August Lefthand; children Rechanda, Rene, Sarah, Dustin (Genevieive), John Jr., and Cindy; brother Abe Caye and two sisters Delores Caye-Sam and Iris Caye; grandchildren Tyree Friedlander, Elizabeth Talbert, Bobbi Kimble, Bianca Streets, Barbara Kenmille, Agnes “Kelly” Kenmille-Tyler Herrera, Lauren Edwards-Eli, Ashley Almaguer, Pamela Almaguer, Jeremiah “Rocky” Almaguer, Kyle Hendrickx, Tyler Morigeau, Kobe Morigeau, Jacob Gatch, Jaleigh Gatch, Jordan Gatch, Gabriel “Gabe” Lutes, Julian “Jules” Lutes, Nathan Inman, John Shotgun III, Jackie Barraza, Birdie Spoonhunter, Constance Standingelk, Luree Shotgun, John Shotgun IV, Gabriel “Gabe” Shotgun Jr., and Gilbert Shotgun; and Great Grandchildren Yancy McCrea Jr., Alhesper McCrea, Olive Talbert, Averie Talbert, Zion Talbert, Lily Kimble, Brenton Kimble, Olivia Roberts, TyZayah Morigeau, TySaius Morigeau, Atreyu Lutes, Oakley Lutes, Jayden Barraza, Sara Barraza, Samuel Barraza, and Zariah Shotgun.  



Barbara will return to Elmo at 11 am on Friday, April 5th, with Rosary at 8 pm.  Burial Mass will begin at 10 am on Saturday, April 6th, burial followed in the Dayton cemetery.
