Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend went home to be with the Good Lord and Savior on August 3, 2019. Laurie was born on April 8, 1963 in Helena, Montana to Earl Patrick and Lucille Matt – Old Horn.
She grew up on the Flathead Reservation and was an enrolled member of the Confederated Salish & Kootenai tribes. In her later life she moved to Butte, Montana. Laurie was very family oriented person who loved to visit, laugh, and socialize with just about everyone she came across.  She always had a story or joke to tell.
In the early 1980’s she attended kicking Horse Job Corps where she met Eugene McKay (June bug). From this union came their two sons Eugene Patrick Dean McKay and Kevin Arthur Old Horn. Later on in life they had their mutual differences but remained good friends.  Laurie went on to meet Robin Walking Eagle and from this union came her precious daughter Natasha Fawn Walking Eagle and her youngest son Jesse Lee Walking Eagle. In her spare time Laurie enjoyed traveling on every opportunity, watching her shows on TV,
which included the “Golden Girls”,
“Little House on the Prairie” and “The Waltons”.
Laurie has six grandchildren Nathaniel Gates, Sheraya, Elyssia, Axander, Chey-Kotah, Little Coyote and another grandchild who is with her now Sopheira Little Coyote. She loved them dearly and was always talking about them.
