Alane McClure Obituary

Alane Iris McClure September 18, 1956 - December 26, 2024

Alane Iris “Gladys” McClure made her journey to be with the ancestors, Thursday afternoon December 26th , 2024. Born in St Ignatius at the Holy Family Hospital on September 18, 1956 to Hank and Mae Zeiler. She attended school at the Ursulines and St Ignatius public schools. Alane graduated with an early childhood education degree from Salish Kootenai College. She utilized her degree by working for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes for their Early Childhood HeadStart program for at least 25 years. During these years she worked at numerous centers such as Ronan, Dixon, St Ignatius and Arlee. Alane was a proud member of the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes. Alane was blessed with three children Kriss, Michaellynn and Sarah. She continued to be blessed with four grandchildren. Alane was born and raised in St Ignatius and lived all of her life here. She always had an extended family of fur-baby’s, her dachshunds and dobermans were her favorites. She loved beading and gardening as well as thrift shopping. Alane enjoyed her work with head start, but she enjoyed retirement even more! Which gave her many good times with her grandkids, fur-baby’s, yard-saling with her sister and cousins, and also dog shopping. Alane is survived by her children; Kriss (Daisy) McClure (son Dylan), Michaellynn Alvarez (children Malachi & Alejandra), Sarah (Colton Wheeler) McClure (daughter Layla). All her fur-baby’s; Daisy, Tank, Doobie, Benny, Zoobie, and Paco. Her sister’s Carolyn (Phil) Langston and Joan Wilkins, nephew/brother Tony Quaring, sister/cousins Adele Martin and Cindy (John) Wheeler. Her good buddies LaMoine “Louise” Hendrickson and Phyllis “Gladys” Haynes. Alane was greeted to the other side by her mom and dad, sister Donna Mae and brother Chuck, as well as all the loved ones who had gone on before her including her many four-legged critters. Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday December 31, 2024 at 11am at the St. Ignatius Community Center. She will be laid to rest between her mom and dad at the Catholic Cemetery in St. Ignatius. Small dinner to follow afterward at the St. Ignatius Community Center.
