Clifford John Tailfeathers, also known as John Turtle, passed away at the age of 50, in Great Falls, MT on February 20, 2024. He was born June 8, 1973 in Browning, MT to Clifford "Braid-man" Tailfeathers & Martina Weatherwax-Jesperson.
Clifford spent his youth in Heart Butte, MT and attended school there. He graduated from Heart Butte High School in 1991. After graduation he enlisted in the Marine Corps , where he served from July of 1992 to June of 1996.
Clifford married Michelle EagleSpeaker in 1994, however they later separated.
After Clifford got out of the Marine Corps he worked as a firefighter on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. He liked to cook, watch wrestling, hiking, and listening to music. Clifford John was honored to be a member of the Blackfeet Veteran's Warrior Society and was a flag bearer at the Heart Butte Pow-Wow.
He is preceded in death by his brother Adrian Tailfeathers, and grandparents Laura & John Tailfeathers.
He is survived by his children: Shaleigh, Kyleigh, Bobbie, and Kyler; his parents: Clifford "Braid-man" Tailfeathers & Tina Jesperson; his granddaughters: Jolena, Kaireya, and Kaislynn; siblings: Desirae Tailfeathers, Stephanie (Edward) Arcand, Destiny Anderson, and Charles "Eskie" Anderson.
Services are to be held at the Brown Building in Heart Butte, MT with a Rosary on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 7 p.m. and a funeral mass on Tuesday, February 28, 2024 at 2 p.m. at St Anne's Catholic Church
