On March 5th, 2024 Delma “Jeannie” Bullshoe Redneck started her journey to the next camp at her home in Missoula, MT. Jeannie was born on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Browning, MT to Leo Bullshoe Sr. and Cecile Little Dog on September 14, 1942. She went to high school and graduated from Flandreau Indian School in 1961. After high school, Jeannie married Richard Morrison (Gilbert Redneck Sr.) and moved to Lame Deer, MT. Jeannie lived in Lame Deer for 30 years where she worked and raised her 4 children and niece and nephew. During her time in Lame Deer she held many positions from her first job as a laundromat attendant to a therapist. Jeannie attended The University of Montana and graduated with her Bachelors in Social Work in 1979. She attended grad school at Eastern Washington University and graduated with her Masters in Social Work in 1988. She divorced Richard in 1988 and moved back home to Browning. She obtained her Licensed Clinical Social Work credentials and worked at Blackfeet IHS Behavioral Health Dept until she retired in 2011. Jeannie was a hard worker and couldn’t stay out of retirement for long so she went back to work for the Blackfeet Manpower Program until 2016. She spent the last years of life living in Missoula with her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jeannie was an avid reader (oftentimes reading textbooks when she ran out of books), she enjoyed cooking, and loved to sing songs at the top of her lungs. Jeannie raised her siblings, nieces, nephews and grandchildren at different times of her life. She dedicated her career taking care of her people even before she became a social worker. Jeannie loved others with her whole being. Jeannie was preceded in death by her mother, father, stepfather Roy McNabb, 3 sons Robert, Mucko, and Clyde; nephew Jason and niece Cindy; grandson Michael Ivan; sisters Mary Jo and Loretta; brothers Leroy, Galen, George, and Donald. She is survived by her stepmother Molly Bullshoe, daughter Julene Redneck, granddaughter/daughter Abigail Higgins (Thomas), son Lonnie Littlebird; Grandkids Amber Redneck (Thomas Yellowbird), Brandon Little Coyote, Cala Jo Redneck, Lindsey Bear Comes Out, Jace Bear Comes Out, Harrison Rock Above, and Savaya Lucero (Nathan); great granddaughters Cali Higgins (Carter Granbois) and Aliyah Higgins; 16 more great grandchildren; sisters Beverly, Linnie, Cleo, Rose, Anna, Deanna, Buttons, and Nancy; brothers Clifford, Virgil, Duane, Darrel, Roy, and her many cousins, nieces and nephews.
