Derwin Lee Bear Medicine

Derwin Lee Bear Medicine, 38, passed away in Great Falls, MT on May 20, 2021. He was born August 24, 1982 to Delnor Bear Medicine and Annette Kennedy in Browning, MT.

Derwin called the Blackfeet Indian Reservation his home and was raised at Starr School. He attended Starr School Elementary and later moved into Browning Schools. His friends and family would call him Der-Der or Der-Bear. Derwin married Samantha Higgens the summer of 2020, however this marriage ended in a divorce.  He worked in as a backyard mechanic and at St. Mary's Lodge. Derwin was very artist and loved beading and drawing. He also had a passion for fixing things that were broken; fishing and playing horseshoes. 

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Joseph & Marie Bear Medicine, Pat & Grace Kennedy; great nephew: Baby Eron Bear Medicine; uncle Byron Kennedy; cousins: Mike Gopher, William OldPerson, Kyle Dodson, Dora LittlePlume; big brother Delayne ManyWhiteHorses.

He is survived by his parents: Delnor Bear Medicine & Annette Kennedy; sisters: Anne Bear Medicine, Delicia Bear Medicine; nephews: Jaithanill & Jayden Bear Medicine; niece: Shaniel Bear Medicine; great-nephew: Christopher Kyle Lee Bear Medicine; great-neiece: Annalicia Grace Bear Medicine; and his only son, who he loved most of all: Dailyn Joseph Lee Bear Medicine; along with many more family members.
