Delores Rose Joseph-Todd, 44, was born November 20, 1980 to Evelyn (Caye) and Darryl Joseph, completing the family with eight beautiful youngsters in town. She was Evelyn's second and Darryl's eighth, to explain, the others were from his first marriage, completed with the second marriage making a very large blended family. Delores, being the last of both parents was of course quite spoiled by the lot of them. That included the bunches of aunts and uncles on both sides, and they were also large families. Needless to say she grew up quite happily with the best of the two worlds all natives grow up in. As a child, swimming, bike riding, and powwows were fun. Then before you know it she was a young lady and she liked to bead, joining the rest of the young folks, going to movies and again, powwows and she was quite the social butterfly. Many highs and lows were great teachers for this lively young woman and she knew the best way to live was to dive right in. If there's a person in this world who doesn't love someone who is willing to live and learn that way then I say what is wrong with you? At least, I think that but to each his own. Eventually adulthood showed up and our girl grew up and began her own family. Shawn Shourds and Delores had Shawnee, Lil Mel, and Manny before they split up and she ran about learning to be happy alone, which is always a good thing to do if you can, when she met up with Jeremy Todd. Love was right again. It was thick in the air, and when they got married it was a union of two souls who would go forward together for themselves, and their lives journey, but together it would be better because everything is better when you share, right? Well the good and not so good times were getting mixed and sometimes the not so good gets in the way. Jeremy went off, leaving the biggest part of his heart with his wife, both knowing it was for the best for both of them, all the while their plans for the greater future stayed right in front of them, waiting... Waiting. She was quite happy anyway and her time was so close to the time it would be they or them again, tomorrow. Now that time is passed.
Dolores was preceded in death by brother, Lenny Darrin; parents, Darryl & Evelyn; and niece, Simone.
Delores is survived by her husband, Jeremy Todd; her children, Mel, Manny and Shawnee, Gia, Xavier, Fran, Jackie, and Sonny; her sisters, Yvonne Hameline, Pablo, Melanie Joseph (Brian Mitchell), Turtle Lake, and Mary Susan Joseph (Harold Paul), Ronan. The family is huge so we would like to mention her life long friend, Adria Greene, who has always lead her very deep into trouble (I'm joking - honestly, Adria s great and we all love her), and also Delores has a large family in this side and the next, aunts, uncles, many many nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and others, so many who have had the pleasure of knowing her smile, her stylish look when getting ready for the day to see her, her charm, her wit and her eyes brightly shining, seeking the wonderful newness of each day. May you rest in peace, Warrior Woman. You will be missed.
