St Ignatius- Douglas "Dougie" Brian Harter, 54, passed away in the comfort of his home on March 27, 2024 in St. Ignatius, MT. He was born in Hot Springs, MT to Bonnie Swaney & Jack Harter on June 22, 1969. Robert Mitchell was Douglas's biological dad, however Jack Harter raised Douglas and he took Jack's last name.
Douglas graduated from Plains High School in 1989, but he also attended Two Eagle River High School and later he earned a A.A in Business from SKC College. Out of high school he worked for P.J. Logging in Plains, then worked for Western Building in Plains, he also bartended at the Legion in Paradise and held some odd and ends jobs. Doug had many loves throughout his life and 3 children. He was a champion swimmer for Plains High School team, he also played on the high school football team, and he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Connie Lee Swaney & Jack Harter; along with a large extended family of aunts, uncles & cousins.
He is survived by his 3 children: Agnes Turner, Jessica Williams, and Brandon Anderson; 2 grandchildren: Talia Williams & Cherish Lee Anderson; and his 2 brother: John Jay Harter and Lawrence Swaney.
