Elijah Marcus Durheim “Lije” passed away on February 9, 2026. Elijah came into this world on February 9, 2002, in Ronan, Montana.
Elijah was an excellent athlete and excelled at wrestling and basketball in his youth. He brought home many championships on the mat and on the court, especially during the summers with his brothers Dallas and Noah. Elijah and Dallas won Spokane Hoopfest three years in a row. His baby sister Aaliyah was his biggest fan.
Elijah was a very strong young man and always had your back if needed. Behind his strength was his big heart and big smile that lit up the room. Elijah loved to hang with his bros and have fun running the Rez. He was always full of energy and life, radiating positive energy with his laugh and outspoken personality. He was always the life of the party, one could say that guy was never shy.
Elijah was an avid hunter and learned from the best marksman, his dad. He always came home with something to feed the family.
Elijah’s main passion throughout the years was demolition derbies. From a young age, Elijah and his brothers learned how to be great mechanics from their papa and uncles. Tearing things apart just to put them back together better.
Elijah’s papa Tony raised him to be a proud member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, and when he wanted to war dance, he was an awesome fancy dancer. That’s the thing about Elijah, he was the smartest, most gifted young man, but did things on his own terms.
Elijah worked for the Salish Kootenai Housing Authority as a Community Groundskeeper, alongside his cousin Bailey.
Elijah is preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Adele Paul Adams Meshell; great-grandfathers, Bill Meshell of Worley, Idaho, and Lawrence Adams of Camas Prairie; great-uncle Lawrence Adams; uncle Michael White; and grandfather John Durheim.
Elijah is survived by his parents, Brent Durheim and Amelia Adams; grandparents Tony and Debby Adams; grandmother Margene Borchers; brothers Dallas Durheim and Noah Durheim (Reina); baby sister Aaliyah Adams; aunts Trish (Jerry), Amanda (Randy), Tanya, and Adaya; uncles John (Frances), Tony (Chelsea), Nick, Jeremiah, and Hawk; numerous beloved cousins; his best dog friends, Leroy and Stormy; and last but not least, his very best bros he loved you all.
