Frances Hirsch

            Frances DuMontier Hirsch (Fran) passed away on February 28, 2024, at the age of eighty-nine years. Born in St. Ignatius on November 12, 1934, she lived most of her life in the Missoula area, where she graduated from St. Francis Catholic High School. Fran was a homemaker and worked as a retail clerk. She enjoyed her family, gardening, playing cards, collecting bird houses, and was an outstanding cook.

            Fran was preceded in death by her son Steven Douglas Swartz. She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Swartz Stevens, Marlene Swartz, and Lori Swartz; grandsons Jason and Darsen Gaughan, Joshua and Anthony (Tony) Swartz; granddaughters Tammy Hitchcock Carter, Michele Hitchcock Brush, Alicia Swartz, Chelsea Swartz, and numerous great-grandchildren.

            The Holy sacrifice of the Mass will be celebrated at 6:00 P.M. on May 12, 2024, at St. Francis Xavier Parish, Missoula, Montana.
