Fred Haynes Obituary

Frederick James Haynes, 71, passed away peacefully in the early hours of June 29, 2025. Fred was born on September 9, 1953 to David & Sophie Haynes. Fred was raised in Arlee attended school in Arlee up till his freshman year and decided school was not for him. Fred did numerous jobs, he worked the fishing boats in Alaska, planted trees for CSKT Forestry, worked the fire lines with CSKT Division of Fire and did a lot of harvesting posts and poles and Christmas trees.

Fred enjoyed spending his down time shed hunting, berry picking, fishing, cutting firewood, gathering morales, husk, and going to family dinners. His favorite time was going over to moms and drinking coffee & sharing stories, sometimes would end in a battle. Fred loved being outdoors and up in the mountains. He would take his nieces & nephews fishing, hunting and hiking. Fred’s favorite place was his long hike up Finley lake area and the pistol creek lookout.

Fred leaves behind his companion, Shirley Glover; best friend and his dog, Jocko; his siblings, Betty Pratt & family, Tom Haynes(Gloria) & family, Erma Haynes & family, Phyllis Haynes(Ralph Foster) & family, Mona Haynes & Family, Sharon Haynes(Woody Arthur) & Family. All his nieces & nephews and many cousins.

Fred will be joining his parents, Dave & Sophie Haynes; David Lee Haynes, Shaylene Haynes, Roberta Haynes, Dalena Weaselhead & Skyla Haynes, Baby Yona, Sophie Pratt; Aunt & Uncles, Michael “Muck Muck” Stasso Woodcock, Baptiste Finley, Susie Stasso O’Brien and Aunt Norma McCrea; Cousin, Francis Cullooyah.

Wake begins at family home on Sunday, June 29, 2025. Will be moving to Arlee Community Center around 10 AM

Traditional Prayers Monday, June 30, 2025 at 7 PM

Traditional Service Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 10 AM

Burial to follow at Haynes Cemetery
