James Farmer Jr. Obituary

On Sunday, June 12th, 2022, James Russel Farmer Jr. unexpectedly passed away at the young age of 22. James was born on the morning of September 10th, 1999 in Omak, Washington to Gina Flores and James (Rusty) Farmer.

At a very young age James developed a great love for stickgame. His dad, Rusty, and family taught James how to sing, drum, point and hide bones. He loved playing stickgame with family and friends. He excelled in it and won big money; purchasing his own flatscreen and an iPhone.

Throughout the years James participated in wrestling, basketball and baseball. Then he came home one day from school and announced he signed up for golf. Nobody in the family knew anything about golf. Despite this, he would go to the Ronan golf course as often as possible and by his senior year James qualified and played at the state tournament.

James regularly attended youth group and church services at Arlee Sacred Heart church. He was confirmed in the Catholic Church in 2016.

In 7th grade James brought home a saxophone. He stated he wanted to be in jazz band because he heard there was an opportunity to go to Disneyland. As fate would have it, James was asked to be in jazz band and by his senior year he got to perform and record a song in Disneyland. James then received the World Stride Outstanding Soloist Musician Award for saxophone.

When James took an interest in something, he gave it 100%. He had a big crush on a girl who lived, loved, breathed basketball. So naturally, James decided to become the Ronan high school girls basketball manager. He had no problem getting water, handing out towels and keeping stats. James learned all the ins and outs of basketball and made many meaningful friendships with the team.

James briefly entertained studying audiology, after working as the receptionist at the Moomaw Hearing Center in Omak Washington. He was proud to work there and enjoyed talking about what his duties entailed. James ended up having to move back to Montana where he applied to work at Walmart. Walmart treated him well. He started out in Online Grocery Pickup (OGP) And as soon as he could transfer stores, he moved back to Omak to be near his siblings Clayton & Kaitlin. James, Clayton, Kaitlin and Johnny Timentwa formed a tight bond during his time in Omak. The three siblings laughed together, cried together, ate together, drank together (a little too much sometimes). It wasn't long before James was noticed for his exceptional work ethic and began to be trained as Team Lead for OGP. The position never opened so James applied for and was selected as front end Team Lead (CSM) in Missoula. Although James knew nothing about this department, he embraced it and learned as much as he could within a short period of time. James began to take his job far more serious and had the ultimate goal of management aka salary. He was well on his way. James was friendly, helpful, patient and a problem solver. One coworker thanked James for having an eternal smile. This all reflected in the way he worked with customers and coworkers (and everyone he met). James continued to give after his death by being an organ donor 💗

James is survived by his parents, Gina (Joe), Flores, Rusty Farmer, Siblings Clayton (Kellie) Yellowwolf, Kaitlin (Johnny) Farmer, Nieces Clarity and Iris, Nephews Marcellius and Blake, grandparents, several aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends.
