John Harris Obituary

John Paul Harris was born in Hamilton, Montana on September 1, 1956. His family moved to Chelhalis, Washington and was student at Mount Saint Helen’s High school where he met his wife Tammy Potter. While they were married for 2 year they had one child Bradford. Shortly after John moved back to Montana, this time to Saint Ignatius. Two years later his son would join him and after a year they would then move to Hamilton. He would decide to take a job in Alaska and would work for Anchorage Memorial Hospital before starting a job at an oil refinery as a cook with his son joining his parents in Saint Ignatius. After a few years he came back with the aim to become a better chef. After many interview he got a job working for Ted Turner at his ranch the Flying D Ranch. This allowed him to hone his craft for several years during the summer season. He worked for many local restaurants in Saint Ignatius, Polson, Arlee, and Missoula. After retirement he spent his days hanging out with his friends and enjoying life. Recently though his home on Third Ave burned down during a brush fire, he was committed to rebuild. He passed away a loved father, brother, and uncle. We will remember him as quick to laugh, forgive, and willing to reach out to help when needed.
