Leila Sanchez

Leila Ida Bird Sanchez, lovingly known as Sister, passed away on February 21, 2025 in Great Falls, MT at the age of 67. Leila was born on June 2, 1957 in Browning, MT right there in the waiting room, to Clayton Bird & Evelyn Jackson LaBuff. Leila was raised in Browning, attending school and graduating in 1976. She later went on and married her lifelong partner, Richard Sanchez. She devoted her time to the Blackfeet Tribe and retired 2022. Leila loved to spend her past time camping, fishing, gardening, dancing, spending precious time with grandkids, BBQs, get togethers, and going to Vegas. 

Leila is preceded in death by; Parents and adoptive parents Blonde and Naoma Gilham; Brother Daryle Wayne LaBuff; Grandson John Thomas Small; Step-father Kell Brown.

Leila is survived by; husband Richard Sanchez; son Brian Counelly; grandchildren Evelyn Jonah, Lowe Patrick, Sidney Rose and brother Patrick Bird.
