St. Ignatius- Louis Eugene Blood, 87, passed away on March 6, 2025 in Missoula, MT. He was born May 7, 1937.
Mom and Dad started their lives together in high school. Dad decided to join the Navy after they graduated and when he returned from boot camp they were married. The first station was Quonsett Point, RI, where CloAnn, then Debbie was born. The next station was San Diego, CA where Louie Jr. was born. The next station was Oakland, CA, but mom decided to come home to St. Ignatius to have Mark. The next station was Long Beach, CA where the Navy man finally served aboard the carrier USS Kearsarge. The next station was Athens, GA where the family actually lived in a house and not military housing for 4 years, our longest station. Dad's next station was Washinton DC, he decided 20 years was enough and mom and the kids moved home to Mission while dad completed his last year there. They had a home built on Dad's 40-acre Allotment on Blood Ranch Lane. The kids, grandkids, and great grandkids become their life, traveling to all the sports games they could get too. Avid Mission Booster fans they attended many football and basketball games- much to the chagrin of many of the players as Dad could be VERY vocal.
After Mom passed away Dad continued to try and attend many of the great-grandkids games but the gastro issues that plagued him, had his health declining and we lost him to that.
He is preceded in death by his parents Louie & Girlie Blood, his brothers George & Charlie and his wife Clione, of 59 years.
He is survived by his sisters JoAnn Roullier, Patty Bundy, and Gloria Artis (Keith.) His brother-in-law Russ King and sister-in-law Meralise Nass. His children CloAnn (Jim), Debbie, Louie Jr (Dawnell) Mark (Michele). His adopted son Duane Cunningham. His grandchildren Chad (Emily), Corrie (Kenny) Louie (Olivia) Payton (Cassie) Jayce (Deidra) Kayla (Ambrose) Gio (Jen). Great grandchildren Mattaya, Jaden, Kellen, Danni, Carter, Patrick, Maverick, Alliyah, Maizie, Bridger, Jinora, Louisa. Numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews.
