With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lyman “Luke” Trahan of Ronan, MT on March 15th, 2026.
Born to Alice Hayzlett Zepeda and Arthur Trahan Sr. on June 9th, 1971 in St Ignatius, MT. Luke's early years carried him between Montana and Oregon- but the call of the Big Sky is difficult to ignore for long. With capable hands and an honest work ethic, Luke was the kind of man who knew what it meant to earn something. He worked hard to build time with his greatest adventure, his children Levi and Gracie. Every hard day was the road that led him back to them.
Best known for the hobbies that defined him, Luke never met a stretch of the Flathead he didn’t want to fish, float, or camp alongside. Chances are if you knew him, you have a memory of him at his happiest- outdoors, on the water, and under the open sky. Casting a line, quietly on a hunt, or gathered with his loved ones around a campfire, the world is quieter without him. The way his laugh filled a room and his embrace coated you in comfort, his departure comes as a great shock and wound felt by all in his community. Without a doubt the grill is lit, a drink is in his hand and a story is already underway.
Luke is survived by his siblings Alisa Hillabold, Nicholas Parker, Leslie Trahan, Daniel Trahan, Arthur Trahan, Chelsea Hewankorn, Michelle Trahan, Nickie Trahan, and those who shared in the beautiful chaos of life. His children Levi, Gracie, and Taylor- and the eager anticipation of a grandchild soon to arrive. He was also a dedicated father figure to K. J., Natalia, Rosie, Kylee, Sage, and countless others who looked to him for guidance, comfort, and laughter. He is preceded in death by his parents Alice Zepeda and Arthur Trahan Sr.
