Melody Marie Crawford

Melody "Mel" Marie Crawford, age 60, passed away on September 3, 2025. Melody was born on March 20, 1965 in L.A., CA to Audrey Racine & James Crawford.

Melody attended school in Browning until the 8th grade, then she transferred to Chemawa Indian School and graduated class of 1983. Melody spent 25+ years working at Indian Health Service, CNA in ER, 4-5 as EMT, BIA Flagger for 4-5 years and 2 years at Ben Franklins. In 2005, Melody married the love of her life and lifelong partner, Jeremy Wells.

Melody loved spending her time at family picnics, long car rides in the mountains or just at home relaxing.

Melody was preceded in death by, father James Crawford, Gertrude Crawford, Daniel Crawford, Hildegarde Racine, and Francis RunningWolf.

Melody is survived by, her husband Jeremy Wells; mother, Audrey Racine; children, Brianne Bell, Braylee Crawford(Driston Louis), Bristen Wells(Torin Moreno); Grandchildren, Scarlett and Legend Batista, O'rion Bell, Adeline Moreno; Granddog, Chewy Louis; sibling, Jamisu Crawford.
