Rachel Ann Stanley – Keesikaw Kapimohtayt Iskwew “Day Walker Woman’, 36, of Pablo, MT passed away on April 2, 2021 from natural causes.
Rachel was born in Great Falls, MT on February 14, 1985 to David Stanley of Nekaneet First Nation and Marion MadPlume of the Salish Kootenai Tribes. Rachel graduated from Maple Creek Composite High School. She resided in Nekaneet First Nation until she moved to the United States in 2011. She married Curtis Smith in July 2016 in Arlee, MT and they had two children together Cedar & Willow Smith before their separation, Rachel & Curtis remain good friends.
Rachel worked at the Headstart in Arlee, Mt until she was no longer able to work due to health reasons.
Rachel is survived by her children Cedar (7), and Willow (4). Her siblings Angie Bergan, Maple Creek Saskatchewan, Dora (Cree) Stanley of Las Vegas, NV., Dyanna Stanley of Albuquerque, NM., Renee (Timothy BlackWeasel) OldManChief of Browning, MT., Aileen (Joseph Small) Stanley of Rocky Boy, MT., Frank Maciel of Great Falls, MT., Kyle Stanley of Hays, MT & her special Auntie Mom Maria Hess Valandra Helena, MT. Rachel will be missed dearly by her boys, family and friends.
Rachel was preceded in death by her mom Marion MadPlume, her dad David Stanley, baby Smith, her maternal grandmother Felicity Caye, and grandfather Robert MadPlume, her paternal grandmother Flora Stanley, and grandfather Joe Crooked Leg, her uncle Robert (Elizabeth) MadPlume, Ronnie MadPlume, Melvin MadPlume, Thomie (Kineekees) Stanley.
A wake is being held at Foster Funeral Home in St. Ignatius on April 3rd & 4th with burial services at 11 am Monday, April 5th at Jocko Cemetery in Arlee, MT.
