Robert "Bob" Tailfeathers

Robert " Bob" Tailfeathers, 74 years old, passed away peacefully at Northern Pines in Cut Bank, MT on January 25th, 2026. Bob was born on February 26th, 1951 in Browning, MT to George Tailfeathers and Nancy Found A Gun.

Bob was raised in Two Medicine/Browning, he graduated Browning High School in 1970. Bob went on to get his Bachelors Degree in Social Work in 1981 at University of Montana and his Master's Degree in Administration in 1999 at the Montana State University. Bob married Cheryl (Smith) Tailfeathers in 1985. From 1969-1970 Bob was a student of Upward Bound Program, then became tutor-counselor and head resident for 11 years. Bob was employed as an art teacher at Two Eagle School. In 1987 he started working at Blackfeet Community College then retired in 2016.

Bob loved to spend his time dancing men's traditional, doing pen and ink art, quillwork, fly fishing, and being out in Two Medicine, surrounded by family.

Bob was preceded in death by parents, George and Nancy; brothers, "Georgie", Lawrence, Melvin, and Tom T.; sisters, Patricia, Anna Mad Man, and Mary Belcourt; and grandson Krystoffor Tailfeathers.

Bob is survived by his children, Kyle and Ed Tailfeathers, and Crystal (Jesse) Harwood; 7 grandchildren, Alexis Tailfeathers, Nancy, Makenna, and Raegan Harwood, and Kahlani "Loo", Tahz and Brody Wild Gun; sisters, Liz and Margaret Tailfeathers; and wife, Cheryl Tailfeathers.
