Terry Lynn Whiting

Terry Lynn Whiting passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, November 26, 2018 in Arlee.
Terry was born to Ruth Miles and Sid Whiting in Missoula, MT on January 21, 1962.  She spent her earlier years growing up with her three older sisters Rhonda, Anna and Cheryle.  Her rebellious spirit was evident from day one and she kept life full and exciting while always keeping her sisters on their toes.
Terry was a proud graduate of Hellgate High School and later went on to study Computer Science at Missoula VoTech.  She later moved to Seattle and then Phoenix where she worked in a variety of financial accounting jobs.  She also served as an officer in the VFW.
After her mother’s death, Terry returned home to help take care of her father.  Upon her return, she spent many years with her father, sisters, nieces and nephews.  In 2005, Terry was petitioned to cater Governor Schweitzer’s Inauguration event where she made a wide variety of cookies, serving all the Montanans who came to celebrate his democratic victory.  Terry will be held in our hearts as the free spirited little sister with wild stories and big dreams.  She will always be the fun auntie and the confidant we needed who created laughter we cherish.
Terry is survived by her sisters Rhonda Whiting of Missoula, Anna Whiting Sorrell (Gene) of Evaro, Jim Whiting (Patty) Phoenix, AZ great aunts Gladys McDonald-Disney of Ronan and Mary Nolan of Missoula, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins and her loving and faithful four legged companion Bobby McGee.  She is preceded in death by Ruth Whiting (mother), Sidney James Whiting (father), and Cheryle Whiting-Ellis (sister).
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Arlee Independent Living Center.  The center is located on Lumphry Lane next door to the Arlee Community Center.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Mission Valley Animal Shelter in Polson.

Life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting “holy shit . . . what a ride!”

Terry and I were best friends after high school and were roommates. We had adventures that temted fate. I'm sorry we lost track of each other. May she rest in peace, she was one of a kind.

I am very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you in this difficult time. I know it’s hard to go through this pain, but I hope you may find comfort in knowing that God cares about how you feel and that He promises that “there is going to be a resurrection.” (Acts 24:15) (1 Peter 5:7) Won’t that be wonderful to see our loved ones again! I hope this promise brings you comfort as it does me.
