Arlee – David Lee Haynes, 40, passed away into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, surrounded by all his loved ones on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014.  He was a proud member of the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribe.
David was born in Bremerton, WA but raised in Arlee graduating from Arlee High School in 1992.  David married Amanda Peone, the love of his life on Oct. 19, 2000.  They have three beautiful children Justis, Quianna, and Antoine “Tapit”.
David recently relocated his family to St. Ignatius, but remained a true Arlee Warriors Fan.  He was an avid fan of the LA Lakers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  He loved his Jordans, and Oakley sunglasses. He loved to shop at the Buckle in the mall and loved to shop for his family also.  He enjoyed a good game of basketball and as he got older golf became his passion.
David was also proud about making the best dry meat.  He was a competitive hunter and would get the biggest bull, but his sister Skyla would get the biggest whitetail.  He liked to hunt with Matt Linsebigler & family up the South Fork and at Ferry Basin.  He always made plans to go for a ride in the mountains to hunt, fish, berry pick and camp.
At family BBQ’s you would see David at the grill with a big smile on his face.  He enjoyed sharing his time with the elders and listen to their stories.  David always made time to stop by his Qene’s to check in on her and share a good laugh.  He always made time for his grandpa Willie Linsebigler, together they would tell stories and enjoyed each other’s company.
Dave worked for five years in Superior for the Lolo National Forest then three years with his brother TJ Haynes and Tony Cutfinger logging.  Since 2004 he has worked for the CSKT Forestry as a heavy Equipment Operator.  He would take a skidgine in places no one else would go except his brother TJ.  They both learned their skills from their grandpa Dave.  We will miss his compassionate spirit, his beautiful smile, his hugs and laughter.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Lawrence & Irene Anderson, David Tapit Haynes and Willie Linesbigler; his aunties Susie O’Brien & Diana Kopecky; his uncles Steve McCall and Mike Benefield; his cousins Shaylene Haynes, Mike Anderson, and Jody Anderson and his bro Tony Cutfinger.
He leaves behind his loving wife Amanda and beautiful children Justis, Quianna, and “Tapit”; parents Tom and Gloria Haynes and brother TJ (Roberta) Haynes & family; Sisters Mandy (Joel) Belcourt & family, Skyla (Dalena) & family, and Nicole (Duane) Haynes Carlson & family; Grandmas Sophie Haynes and Dollie Linsebigler; his in laws Bev (Cole) Hill; his beloved boxer dog Kobe and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A wake began Wednesday at the Arlee Community Center with a funeral service being held at 11 am Friday, August 8th (today) at the Center.   Burial will follow in the Haynes Cemetery.   Condolences may be left at www.fosterfhandcrematory.com

Tom, Gloria, Amanda, and all: We have and will continue to pray for all of you. Our hearts ache for the difficulty it is to say goodbye too early to someone so special. We have been hopeful that he would continue to walk out this life here but we are confident that he lives with our Lord and all of his family in heaven. Our sincere love and friendship to you all! ~Charmel & Bud Gillin
